Dick's Kitchen 3312 SE Belmont Specializing in grass-fed free-range burgers and other varieties including beef, buffalo, turkey, salmon, organic tempeh, and portobello with a variety of highly unique house-made sauces. Ask for the Gluten-Free bun ($1.50 more) or "Naked Lunch" and they'll serve it over a bed of greens. Be sure to try a side of the Sweet Potato "Not-Fries," which are air-baked. Attuned to the Paleo Diet, Dick's even has little dinosaurs and cave men with spears decorating the counters. View Menu |

Por Que No? 4635 SE Hawthorne Blvd. Por Que Salad with grilled chicken (does have small amount of cheese and roasted pumpkin seeds)--positively delish! I recommend their Salad Rolls ($5), which have shrimp, chicken, carrots, cucumber, lettuce, in rice wrapper (gluten-free), and comes with peanut sauce. Good value, 4 pieces of salad roll for $5! They also have gluten-free almond cookies and gluten-free French macaroons. Lots of dishes and delicious soups with rice noodles. |

Isabel's in the Pearl 330 NW 10th A really good option when you want to eat out and still eat healthy is Isabel's in NW Portland. The food has a Latin-Asian influence, and has a very definite focus on being clean, organic, and healthful. All the meat (chicken, beef, etc. is organic, vegetarian fed, no hormones) and there were many things on the menu that wouldn't conflict at all with Dr. Tony's recommended way of eating. This place is worth checking out. A no frills atmosphere--a bit industrial--and it was loud (not the best if you want a quiet place to eat--although this was loud enough that you could carry on a very private conversation and no one would hear). P.F. Changs 1139 NW Couch Street They have several good options and with a separate Gluten-Free menu that makes ordering much easier (rather than trying to discern what is gluten-free and what is not from a generic menu). Ask for it without MSG. View Gluten-Free Menu |
